Future options for Crush

Status

So far, pdebuild-cross provides a base for the cross-builds and certain packages have been prepared as Emdebian Crush packages. However, some of the same issues that hindered Crush 1.0 have re-appeared - packages that used to cross build successfully have added features to the native builds which now block cross-building and fixing these issues will take time.

Whether the experiments with Crush 2.0 actually lead to a release is uncertain at this time.

The range of packages currently being prepared for Crush are listed in the subversion repository and include, busybox, cairo, curl, debconf, dpkg, gconf, gnome-vfs, gnupg, hal, libidl, openssh, sysvinit, udev and xorg-server. These packages were chosen because the functionality of the package needs to be changed, not because the packages are themselves important or "core" to Emdebian Crush.
